Let's be honest here. Some of us find museums a bit boring. Luckily, professional photographer Stefan Draschan is trying to inspire people to appreciate art in a unique way. He has spent years hanging around museums waiting for people to approach the right painting not realizing that they perfectly match the priceless piece of art that they're looking at. Imagine how much it would make your day if someone pointed out that you happened to match a painting you admire! At the very least it would make your trip to the museum far more memorable. His project, “People Matching Famous Paintings” is both hilarious and fascinating, and helps connect people to gorgeous paintings that have lasted for 100s of years.
1. Maybe They're Related
It's not just the body type and hair color that cause us to do a double-take, it's the fact that both of them are also standing with their backs straight and are completely dressed in black.
We love how the seam in the baseboard mimics the walking stick in the painting (we bet you didn't notice it).
2. Grandma Has Some Serious Style
This is an awesome coincidence with both the top and art are unique. They are two entirely different artistic perspectives, but we are super impressed. Someone, please tell this woman that she is enhancing the piece of abstract art.
After looking at this photo, we can guess why it took the photographer years to match this artwork with a worthy person. It would have been mind-blowing if she was standing on her head (that would have made the resemblance even more shocking).
3. Painting Frame: Braids - Palette: Sweatshirt
With the braids and the picture frame on top of the blue colors, this photo was meant to be taken. Maybe her turquoise blue clothes and blonde hair were the main inspiration for Van Gogh to paint his Starry Night Over the Rhône.
This may be one of our new favorite photographs ever. It looks like Rapunzel and the floating lights.
4. Impressive Impressionist Matching
We can appreciate the photographer for perfectly matching the artwork with this woman, but first, let's take a moment to appreciate this woman's dress. Is it not gorgeous? Maybe she intentionally dressed to match Monet’s Water Lilies series. Was her dress made from the same canvas the painting was made from? Or who knows, maybe the painting is made from the same fabric as the dress.
If you scroll up so you can't see the bottom of the painting frame, she looks like she's actually part of the painting. Make sure to dress to match some popular painting for your next museum trip! Who knows, someone might take your photo.
5. Getting 2 For The Price of 1
This is an intriguing contrast of light vs. dark. What are the chances of this happening? These two were made for the two paintings.
It seems like the woman is contemplating the past and the man is looking at his future. This is how you get 2 for the price of 1.
6. Sometimes The Match Is Almost Perfect
Stefan Draschan waits for hours for the perfect photo. He waits for the right person to arrive who matches the artwork. However, he does not approach them. Instead, he hopes that they go near the painting before taking a photo at the right moment.
It seems like flowers are growing out of her outfit. After looking at this photo, we can understand why he is so careful in choosing the right moment to take a picture.
7. Back To The Future
It looks like she escaped from the painting and is trying to decide whether to go back or not.
When this woman entered, the stars magically aligned for the photographer and he waited for the moment she passed by the painting. We love it!
8. She Knows How To Camouflage
Meet the new Marvel Superhero: RugWoman. What is her superpower? Well, she can become a rug at will. Did she snatch that off the wall and wrap it around herself?
You can even see the little 4-point star detail on her dress. It is some weird coincidence. One wonders if she is looking at the art thinking, "There is something I really like about this..."
9. She Blended Right In
Stefan Draschan said in an interview that, "After a while, it became clear it is no single coincidence." Now we can see why he said it as everything is meant to happen, and you can’t prevent destiny.
It looks like the painting is sucking her in. So you can say that it is a photo by a photographer who photographed another photographer watching an artwork. By the way, she is wearing a GRYFFINDOR SCARF!!!!! Any Harry Potter fans here?
10. A Perfect Couple
The couple in the painting is like, "We have been waiting for these two for so long."
Visitors don't get to meet Stefan or know that they are being photographed. He said in an interview, "I don't want contact, that's not my style."

Dare we say that this picture is even better than the painting itself? We might have said something really wrong here, but we will stand by it.
And none of these photos are staged. It is just a pure coincidence and the result of patiently waiting for the right moment.

Well, we feel that she was destined to be in the museum and front of this painting. Destiny works in mysterious ways.

Oh, for a moment we thought the man was a statue. And then we were like, how can there be two statues in the photo and no human?
It looks as if the statue is contemplating his future. Maybe the man has borrowed the outfit from the statue.

OMG, we need that hair, it looks so cool. Are we the only ones who want to see her from the front?
It looks like she is actually part of the painting. Is she thinking, "Here is the color chart I used to pick my hair dye!"

Hey, here is a game for you - spot the squirrel. Now spot the woman? Got ya, right?
We are 200% sure that if this woman plays hide and seek in the museum, no one would be able to find her. She knows the perfect place to hide in there.

Wonder if the lady is related to the lady in the painting. Is she thinking, "Maybe I shouldn’t have repurposed Great-Grandma’s dress?"

By the way, we really loved her hair. Perhaps the photographer took photos of her looking at other paintings as well.

This Muslim lady was appreciating the artwork and the photographer was quick to take the photo.
Her complete attire is like a part of the artwork and we love how simple yet elegant it looks. This is why art has no boundaries.
23. Best Part of a Sunset
The photographer took two photos for this painting; one of them was of a woman whose red hair looked like a sunset, and this one.
Looking at this painting makes us want to go to a beach and enjoy a peaceful sunset. The only issue with this photo is her headphones, but it is still almost perfect.
24. Braids + Art = A Perfect Combination
The photographer noticed the braids of this woman and knew when and where to take the photo. He just had to wait for the right moment. It was definitely worth the wait.
He talked about how he started taking pictures of people, "I like to photograph a lot of things and whether or not it becomes a series is just luck. In Vienna, it became clear that it wasn't just a coincidence. My eyes have learned to watch out for it."

We think this person was reincarnated and just came back to admire their masterpiece.

It seems like the wanderer has stepped out of the picture much older than before and his hair has fallen. Thankfully, he still carries the same cane.
Wanderer above the Sea of Fog (aka Wanderer above the Mist) is a famous oil painting by the German romantic artist Caspar David Friedrich. It is indeed a masterpiece.

Maybe the girl in the painting came out into the real world... how could you disagree with this theory? Maybe she is just looking in a mirror hanging in the museum.
This one looks like an extension of an endless loop, like what you get with two mirrors facing each other.

The woman in the painting looks so beautiful. She seems to be deep in thought, how can someone not fall in love with her?
