35 Giant Movie Bloopers Even The Biggest Movies Can't Hide

Movies have the power to transport you into another world, but humans make movies, and that's why there can be imperfections within them. In this list, you will find out how even the most hardworking and talented directors and actors made mistakes in their movies. Grab your popcorn and read on to find out which films made BIG mistakes that no one saw - until now!

1. The Aviator - Chocolate Chip Cookies

The 2004 film The Aviator was a critical and commercial success. In one of the scenes from the movie, Howard Hughes (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) buys chocolate chip cookies.
Well, it is a blooper because the writers didn't realize that chocolate chip cookies weren't invented until 1930, which is two years after the movie was set.

2. Django Unchained - Sunglasses

This 2012 hit film made an error which many people noticed, and many didn't. In the movie Django (played by Jamie Foxx) wore sunglasses. But the thing is that they weren't prevalent back then and were mostly used when prescribed by doctors.
Given that Jamie Foxx was so good in the movie, most of us simply ignored or forgave this big mistake.

3. Titanic - Lake Wissota

Titanic became the biggest grossing film of all time and was a massive hit among the audiences and the critics. However, most viewers didn't notice that Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) tells Rose that he and his father used to fish in Lake Wissota.
It was a good story to tell a girl, but the problem is that the Titanic sank in 1912, and Lake Wissota was formed in 1917.

4. Braveheart - Wearing A Kilt

This American epic historical fiction war film was nominated for ten Academy Awards and won five. But the issue is that William Wallace (Mel Gibson) character wore a kilt.
It is because Scots used to wear them, but not in 1300 in which the movie was set. Wearing a kilt became popular in the 1600s.
Braveheart - Wearing A Kilt

5. Forrest Gump - Apple Stocks

Okay, this is one of those errors that could make anyone laugh. In the movie, Forrest Gump receives a letter from Apple, but the film was set in 1975.
Surprisingly, the famous rainbow logo of Apple was not designed until the following year, and Apple became a publically traded company in 1981.

6. Gladiator - "The Spaniard"

Any fans of Russell Crowe and his famous role of Maximus Decimus Meridius? Well, his character in the movie is also called 'The Spaniard,' which is, in fact, an old French word that was invented in the 1300s.
It was a silly mistake from the writers as the Gladiator movie was set in 180 AD, a thousand years earlier!
Gladiator - "The Spaniard"

7. The Dark Knight - Spell Check

Christopher Nolan is frequently called a perfectionist, but it seems like there was one proofreading mistake that he and his team didn't notice.
By the way, the word "Hiest" can even make the fans of Money Heist a bit angry.
The Dark Knight - Spell Check

8. The Hurt Locker - Xbox Games

In the movie, you can see the characters playing a game on Xbox 360. The Xbox itself didn't come out until 2005, and the game they were playing, Gears of War, was released in 2006.
As the movie took place in 2004, this little error is enough to make it on our list.

9. Harry Potter And The Chamber of Secrets - Cameraman On Set

You can find tons of bloopers of the famous Harry Potter film series. It is probably because most of the actors in the films were kids. But there is one particular blooper that is absurd and unbelievable.
You may remember the scene in which Malfoy is on the ground, and Hogwarts students are looking at him. In that scene, you can clearly see a cameraman, and it makes one think that the editors were smoking something during post-production.

10. Pirates of The Caribbean - Granny Smith Apples

If you're a fan of Pirates of The Caribbean movies, you may have noticed that Captain Barbossa likes to eat apples. In one scene, you can see him with an apple, Granny Smiths, which didn't even exist until 1868, approximately 140 years after the film was set.
Even if you love apples and the Pirates of The Caribbean, we're sure you didn't know about this fact.

11. Lord Of The Rings - Gandalf's Watch

We all know how great of a wizard Gandalf is, but we didn't expect this from him. Gandalf was not only after the Ring but also watches as well. In one battle scene, you can notice that he was wearing a watch.
Although not many people noticed the blooper, some people were quick to point it out. It is safe to assume that even if the audiences had seen the watch, they still would've been fans.
Lord Of The Rings - Gandalf's Watch

12. Gladiator - Gas Canister

Here is another error from Gladiator. The movie was great, but how could they not notice this mistake in post-production. The error is from one of the most famous scenes from the film, and we can clearly see a gas canister in the back of a chariot.
We are somewhat happy that they didn't cut this scene because this blooper has become quite popular as well.
Gladiator - Gas Canister

13. Back to The Future - Marty's Guitar

If you're a big fan of the movie, you must have remembered the scene when Marty McFly travels back in time to 1955 and goes to a high school dance to play a cool Gibson ES-345 guitar.
It is a big blooper because the ES-345 wasn't even produced until 1958. Maybe it only happens in time traveling.
Back to The Future - Marty's Guitar

14. Troy - Airplane

The 2004 film Troy was a huge critical and commercial success as it has all the ingredients to be a memorable movie. The main character, Achilles (played by Brad Pitt), was brilliant, and the director, Wolfgang Petersen, was superb as well. However, the movie itself wasn't perfect, as it has many mistakes in it.
The people noticed that you could see an airplane flying above Achilles during an outdoor scene. It later turned out to be a hoax-photoshopped as part of a contest. Still, there are many bloopers and mistakes in the film, and all you need to do is look closely.
Troy - Airplane

15. 300 Movie - Black Powder

This error is something you may have thought about while watching the movie. You see, the Xerxes army tries everything to beat the Spartans and even use bombs to defeat them.
It is a huge error because the black powder wasn't invented until the 9th century. The movie is excellent but not historically correct.
300 Movie - Black Powder

16. Sherlock Holmes - Geography Matters

Sherlock Holmes is an excellent movie to watch, especially the chase scene at the end of the film, which started in the sewers and ended at Tower Bridge.
However, the issue with it is that the sewers at the Houses of Parliament and Tower Bridge are over two miles apart. So, it is not feasible at all.

17. Spy Kids - Cameraman In The Way

This 2001 classic kid’s movie has many fans all around the world. In the film, the Cortez siblings find out that their parents are spies and decide to rescue them after they are captured.
In one scene, we see that Carla Gugino is sitting in front of the vanity mirror, and you can clearly see a cameraman with a pale purple shirt. By the way, there are plenty of other mistakes and bloopers in the film as well.
Spy Kids - Cameraman In The Way

18. Spider Man - Self-Repairing Lamp

It won't be wrong to say that Spider-Man started the superhero movie trend back in 2002. In the movie, Peter Parker (played by Tobey Maguire) discovers his ability to shoot webs and starts experimenting in his room, which results in him breaking a lamp.
However, moments later you can see that the lamp is back on the shelf again and there is not even a single scratch on it. How is that even possible?
Spider Man - Self-Repairing Lamp

19. The Usual Suspects - Not The Same Plane

The Usual Suspects is one of the best neo-noir mystery movies, and it has some of the best cast as well. In the film, you can see that the characters are about to rob a police car near the airport.
The first scene shows the front of a 747 with four engines, and moments later, the second scene shows the back of a 767 with two engines. No one can still figure out the mystery behind it. Do you have anything to add?
The Usual Suspects - Not The Same Plane

20. Independence Day - Got The Address Wrong

In the movie, the Empire State building explodes but not many people noticed that the location of the building is different than the address of the real-life building.
In the movie, the address of the building is 53rd street, but the Empire State Building is on 34th street in real-life.
Independence Day - Got The Address Wrong

21. American Sniper - Bradley's Baby Doll

This 2014 American biographical war drama film received a lot of positive reviews as well as six nominations at the 87th Academy Awards, ultimately winning one award for Best Sound Editing. It explains a lot because, in one particular scene, many viewers quickly notice that the baby in the arms of Chris Kyle (played by Bradley Cooper) is limp and lifeless.
It is because the acclaimed director, Clint Eastwood, decided to opt for a doll because directing babies isn't easy. The scene somewhat ruins the fun of a movie that is quite good.

22. The Patriot - Totally Ageless

One thing we know for sure after watching The Patriot is that aging can get complicated and awkward to portray when there's a movie that spans several years.
We don't know if you noticed it or not, but no one ages in the movie, not even the children.
The Patriot - Totally Ageless

23. Panic Room - Don't Fall Asleep In Chemistry Class

In the movie, Jodie Foster lights a propane canister in an attempt to avoid the rising canister.
However, the issue is that propane is heavier than air, and it means that the canister would easily fall on the floor.
Panic Room - Don't Fall Asleep In Chemistry Class

24. The Sound Of Music - Good Luck!

As the Von Trapp family are pushing their car out of the gates of the house they are suddenly stopped by Nazis. After some tense moments, Herr Zeller is allowed to take part in the music festival and as Maria and the Captain go to the front of the car he gives them the fingers crossed "good luck" sign.
This crossed fingers sign, while popular in most English-speaking countries, is actually not how people signal good luck to each other in many German-speaking parts of the world. Rather, Herr Zeller should have pressed his thumbs, also known as the "Daumen drücken."
The Sound Of Music - Good Luck!

25. Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade - Historical Inaccuracies

Although the scenes of Nazi burning books were visually dramatic, the scenes were set in 1938 and it actually happened in 1933.
We really loved the film, but we still can't forgive it for not accurately depicting history.
Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade - Historical Inaccuracies

26. Malcolm X - Somebody (Can't) Call 911

We notice in the movie that Malcolm X yells out for someone to call 911 when his home is under fire.
However, the issue here is that 911 wasn't even launched until three years after the assassination of Malcolm X.

27. Saving Private Ryan - Motorcycle Troubles

In the commercially and critically hit movie Saving Private Ryan, Captain Miller (Tom Hanks) leans against a Ural M-63 model motorcycle as he gets injured.
The problem with this particular scene is that the model of motorcycle did not exist until 18 years after the film was set.

28. Dallas Buyers Club - Lamborghini Aventador

Matthew McConaughey is known for injecting life into any role that he takes, and he was splendid in this movie as well. In the film, he plays the role of Ron Woodroof, who has HIV/AIDS in 1985.
However, there is one scene in which you can see a poster of a red Lamborghini Aventador in the back, and the problem with the shot is that the sports car came out in 2011.
Dallas Buyers Club - Lamborghini Aventador

29. Public Enemies - John Dillinger's Hit List

In the movie, both Babyface Nelson and Pretty Boy Floyd are killed off by John Dillinger. Now, the big problem with it is that John Dillinger died before either of them.
We have no idea why the writers, or anyone else, did not notice this massive timeline discrepancy. Or maybe they noticed it and decided not to do something about it.
Public Enemies - John Dillinger's Hit List

30. The Shawshank Redemption - The Poster

Anyone who loves film can include this movie on their top ten list without thinking twice. It is a brilliant movie, and the scene in which Andy Dufresne escapes by covering the escape hole with a Raquel Welch poster is just amazing.
However, the error is that the poster of Raquel Welch is from the poster of "One Million Years B.C.," which came out one year after The Shawshank Redemption was set.

31. Straight Outta Compton - Eazy-E's Hat

The film, Straight Outta Compton, was a box office smash when it stormed into theaters. The movie followed the rise, and later separation, of the infamous California rap group NWA. Although the movie was enjoyed by many, there was one thing that fans couldn't help but notice.
One of the main characters, Eazy-E, is a big fan of the Chicago Whitesox as can be seen by his choice of hat. The problem? The film takes place in 1986 when the Chicago Whitesox logo was completely different and used gray, blue, and red. Whoops!

32. Halloween - California Palm Trees

Although the film is set in a fictional town in Illinois, if you look closely into the background then you can notice Californian palm trees.
It may not be a huge deal for many people, but this is something that many Californians noticed.

33. Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows - Green Eyes

People who have read Harry Potter books always say that the movies are not as good as the books. It became evident when the creators of the Harry Potter film series didn't take into account what J.K. Rowling wrote about Harry having the same color eyes as his mother.
In the books, the author described the mother's eyes as green, and they are portrayed as blue in the films. To make matters worse, in a flashback scene, the mother's eyes are shown as brown.

34. Top Gun - Aerial Tricks

Do you remember the famous scene from the movie in which Maverick and Goose Fly so carefully, with one plane upside down?
This is entirely impossible, and doing it would end in a fatal crash as the back wings of the planes would collide.
Top Gun - Aerial Tricks

35. Charlie’s Angels - Getting Names Mixed Up

The 2000 film Charlie's Angel received mixed reviews from critics but performed quite well at the box office. Crispin Glover played the role of a creepy, slick-haired bad guy in the movie.
In one scene, the Angels chase him down and dodge the bullets from his pistol. They fight with him, and at that moment, Drew accidentally calls Lucy by her real name instead of Alex.

36. Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s End - Singapore's Founding

The crew of the Black Pearl travels to Singapore in the movie for an impressive showdown with the East India Trading Company. What's wrong with it?
Well, the central part about it is very wrong because Singapore wasn't even founded in the 1700s.
