We all know the saying that a picture is worth a thousand words, but what you are about to see is worth so much more! Truly talented and creative minds captured the right moments in time through images that will truly take your breath away. What's even more impressive is that these images weren't photoshopped at all, and are simply the result of untamed creativity, mad photography skills, and excellent timing. Prepare to have your mind blown!
Tea Time
Next time you take a trip to the Arctic, take with you a bag of tea packets. This image was taken when a photographer used a canister with hot boiling tea and scattered it above their head and giving us this breathtaking image of a fleeting arch.
Tea has many uses. For example, using it as a remedy, soothing the nerves, or a great prop to put inside pictures in the freezing air. We love drinking tea just as much as anybody, but this makes us love it even more. It should be an ad!
Planet Tennis
On the court or out in the galaxy, this tennis ball does all! This out-worldly image gives us a new planet to discover in our little part of the universe. We imagine this wet spinning tennis ball created a galaxy of its own, or maybe a frightening black hole, sucking in the stars.
It doesn't even look like it's part of the milky way, but rather it has created its pocket galaxy to exist inside. Don't get us started on the water drops sprinkling in a beautiful spiral movement, as it mimics the stars we see above us.
Copy\Paste
Thank god for the Netherlands! They built these mesmerizing windmills and placed them with precision along the coast, and allowing this photographer to take an image of a wonderful human accomplishment without the use of photoshop. The world should take note of the Dutch people when it comes to green energy.
We are beyond impressed with the planning that went into placing these windmills, they look like they were copied and pasted along the shore, but in reality, we know that's not the case. The engineers behind this are talented at what they do.
The Gray Temple
The Ontake volcanic eruption in Japan created the gray temple you see before you, covering the structure with volcanic ash. Volcanic eruptions are never good, but in this case, they did manage to give us a one-of-a-kind black and white image of the temple.
The ash covered the temple so well it made visitors look completely photoshopped and out of place, as they are too colorful in contrast to the gray ash. It proves that even mother nature can pose for a black and white photo and makes it look stunning.
A Fine Line
There isn't quite a place in the world like New York City. Both visitors and locals know that the big apple holds many cultures, different groups of people, and even entire worlds co-existing side by side. So it's no surprise this image is possible, as nature and humanity co-exist in this city.
Central Park is located right in the center of New York City, and people can cross the street to arrive at this green open space. This image truly captured a part of the essence of New York and what it means to be in it. You can find yourself in a concrete jungle or a real jungle.
Moon Globe
This radio telescope caught more than just signals in this image, but the supermoon as well. This picture was taken at the precise moment the supermoon was above the telescope and creating a snow globe moment so perfect we can't believe this is not photoshopped.
Sometimes you need a bit of luck or an incredible amount of creativity to pull this off. The color of the vibrant blue night sky as the background against the moon only enhances the image and taking us into a world of fantasy and wonder.
Building The Sky
Okay, this one is simply beautiful. We see this and think of the endless possibilities humans can do if they just wanted to. At first, it just might look like a tractor releasing a cloud in the sky, but the meaning could mean so much more.
We would want to imagine that this image captures humans building our skies and that the cloud was planned, ahead of time, to be placed where it should be. This tractor's operator is doing its job. Wouldn't that be cool? For us to build the sky?
Where's My Seat?
North Korea is known for many things. Mostly bad, but here as evident in the image, is their military discipline. North Korean military staff are seating as a unified group in perfect precision, in contrast to the North Korean civilians. Notice how everyone seated plays their role in society.
Military soldiers, both men, and women who are indistinguishable from each other, wearing one color uniform. The men on the left are wearing suits, and the women are wearing traditional garments. North Korea loves to put each citizen in their place.
A Blue Heaven
This picture captured a Japanese paradise. When we think about heaven, this comes fairly close. The blue sky, mixing with the blooming blue flowers on the ground. The single tree standing, its leaves rustling in the breeze. This image is peaceful and captivating at the same time.
The picture looks like it was taken in heaven, and we can almost feel the ethereal energy here. It is a breathtaking picture. We would love to hang this on our wall to remind us there is so much beauty in this world worth exploring.
Caught In A Web
Spiders are usually considered scary creatures, and we mostly try to avoid them. However, we constantly forget spiders are also nature's artists, as they have to ability to spin intricate designs with their naturally produced webs. As you can see below, they have taken over Abernathy Forest in Scotland.
We stay away from these masses of webs, but it can't take away from the fact of how pretty this looks and the amount of work these spiders have done to create this spider's oasis. Spiderman would be proud of his brothers and sisters.
Cold Day For A Tan
Have you ever thought about going to the high mountain peaks and get a tan? Yeah, we neither, but this picture gives us a reason to try it out. The colorful umbrella found its way to this white snow mountainside, creating a beautiful moment to capture in a picture.
It is something about the entire world in the image is without color, to finally be met with a splash of a rainbow, that gives this picture a powerful meaning. The shades of white from the sky and the ground, enveloping the tiny umbrella creates an image that will stay with us for a while.
The Wrath
It is an image of complete chaos and powerful forces of nature crashing into each other when this volcano erupted during a lightning storm. It looks like two gods battling it out, and Earth is the playing field. We can't take our eyes off this picture.
This lucky photographer took this picture at the right time and gave us a real demonstration of why nature will always be the one in charge on this planet. Besides, what are the chances for a volcano eruption and a lighting storm at the same time?
The Reflecting Pool
It's funny this image was taken in Canada as the eagle, and its reflection in the pond are considered symbols connected to the United States. This image was taken when this eagle came swooping down, we assume for a fish, and caught its beautiful reflection.
The eagle is majestic as it is, and this picture gives it an even further regal reputation. Perfect synchronization of the eagle's wings, lightly touching the water, completing a full circle between its body and reflection. That eagle stare is giving us life! We salute this feathery model!
Which Side Are You On?
Here we have an Italian beach, with perfect organizing skills. Half the beach is covered with red umbrellas, while the other half is with yellow umbrellas. Why not use one color for the umbrellas? Who knows for sure. We guess visitors must choose sides.
So are you team red or team yellow? Regardless, this image is delightful, upbeat, and giving us the retro vibe from the 70s, and we love it. After all, Italy was always fashionable and ahead of its time when it comes to design trends. Perhaps, we should take notes.
Catching A Red-Eye
If you ever wondered what a close-up of an eye of a warty tree frog looks like, then look no further. This red-eye was taken in the depths of Costa Rica as one brave photographer ventured into the jungles to take this eye-cathing image. We had to use a pun here. Come on!
Wart Tree frogs are relatively harmless, not like their distant cousins, the poison dart frogs. Don't be alarmed by the ominous red-eye, it's simply the color of their eye, and it's beautiful. We hope you see the world a little clearer now. Sorry, we just had to use another pun!
Red Earth
Sometimes the earth isn't green or brown, but a mesmerizing shade of red. In Dongchuan district in Yunnan province in China, there is a natural phenomenon when the vast iron deposits in the ground are exposed to the warm and humid climate, forming iron oxide, which comes in brownish-red color.
This place should be on your bucket list of places to visit, besides think how beautiful this would be on your Instagram feed! The red earthy background will give any picture taken there a dramatic angle and one that will easily catch the eye.
Blue Visitors
Say hi to these glowing squids. That's right, meet the firefly squids who can emit light through a light emission enzyme which is cool, meaning it doesn't heat up. If you travel to Toyama Bay, where they usually show up, beware to go near them because it's their spawning season, and many more squids are ready to come into this world.
Their natural light comes in handy for three main reasons: protection using their light, hiding, and finally to converse with each other. How cute! These creatures take our breath away, and we are not mad. These squids don't just brighten up the ocean but our day too!
Another World
A photographer took this image in the Namib desert in Africa. These trees have been there for approximately 1000 years, and they are located in an area named Deadvlai, which translates to the dead marsh. Wow! This picture is giving us space vibes!
There used to be a river running to this area, but climate changed, a draught happened, and these trees were left to die. Sad indeed, but the memory lives on, and it gives a unique and extraordinary view of our world. Doesn't this place look like an alien planet?
Mega Flamingo!
This flock of flamingos did the unimaginable and created one giant flamingo! This image is one hundred percent real. We investigated! This image was taken by photographer Bobby Hass and later published in National Geographic. Bobby couldn't believe it at first, but the longer they stayed in formation, the reality became clear- this is happening.
Flamingos don't usually, or at all for that matter, form a giant flamingo. This lucky coincidence became even luckier when there was a professional photographer in the area. What are the odds? We are probably never going to see this sight ever again. Well, unless we look at this picture.
And The Waters Run Red...
Beware of the red waters! It is one lake you must not go in for a dip, or it will turn you into stone. We are serious. This Tanzanian lake, named Lake Natron, has transformed dead wildlife coming in contact with the water, into stone-like statues. The cause behind this has to do with the volcanic geology surrounding the lake, creating strange chemistry in the area.
The lake's color comes from a different reason, Haloarchea, a microorganism that flourishes in this type of extreme environment. There is speculation the Haloarchea is the one responsible for the bloodied water, the first of 10 plagues, in the old testimony.
Lost In The Forest
This forest in the picture is in Russia. Specifically in its green forest area. The photographer managed to create an image of enchanted and endless woods. They also placed a model in a red dress who appears foreign to the forest, but at the same time, she is drawn into it.
It takes skill, time, and the right opportunity to capture this captivating image. It feels like, just as the woman in the photo, we are drawn into the forest ourselves, lured further into its realm. Just be careful not to get stuck inside the picture.
Canola Fields
Have you ever wondered how to make Canola oil? After a Canola, also known as a rapeseed flower, has withered, farmers use their seeds to create the cooking oil. The image you see is from Luoping, China, long after farmers spread rapeseed flowers all over the land.
Luoping County is a coveted location for photographers to take amazing pictures and attracting them at the beginning of spring when the rapeseed flower fields are in full bloom and ready to get their picture taken. Aren't these little floral celebs look glamorous?
The Namib Sea
The Namib desert is making its second appearance on our list, this time for another out-of-this-world imagery. The dunes of the Namib desert can appear like a worm orange sea, allowing photographers to capture an image that will make headlines and captivate audiences from around the world.
Although this ocean you can't sail through, it looks like an infinite surface one can drown in. After all, we feel like we are drowning in this photo, and we don't mind it at all. The power of this picture takes us with it on this journey to Africa.
Crossing The River
This picture gives out the feeling of two cities separated by a river running between them. The truth is this river is a canal that runs in the Westerdok district, in stunning Amsterdam. The colorful city has attracted visitors from all over the world, and we surely can see why!
As you can see, the canal is still very active to this day. Boats and water transportation travel daily, both for locals and tourists. You can even stay inside a boathouse during your vacation to Amsterdam! If you want to be the captain of your ship, then go ahead!
As Above, So below
Get ready for a head spin with illusion photography. A photographer captured just the right moment as an airplane flew above a spiral and woven-like wooden structure. To us, this image represents hope, a light at the end of the tunnel kind of vibe, as the plane flying high above this heavy structure.
What a hypnotic picture this is. We can't stop falling into this it. At times it feels we are taken upwards, and just as well, we feel drawn downwards. The power of photography can make one person think and feel so many things, in regards to the captured moment.
The White Forest
Winter can be brutal in some places around the world, with freezing temperatures and ice covering the land makes it difficult for a human to get by. Luckily, this image is of a forest that can withstand a bit more cold than us. This forest froze over as the winter season came at full force
If you find yourself wanting to go on a vacation into this icy forest wonderland, you can! This picture was taken in Beskydy Mountains, a range located between Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Just don't forget to wear a lot of layers, or you might end up freezing yourself.
We <3 Turtles!
Who doesn't love turtles! Turtles are quite mellow and laid-back creatures, and again, who doesn't love them! They are cute, friendly (unless it's a snapping turtle, those you should stay away from), and all-around good guys. Did we mention we love turtles?
Here in this image, you see no exception to their friendly and kind nature. A photographer captured this beautiful meeting between a turtle and an even smaller creature, a butterfly. Animals' friendships just melt our hearts, and this is too much for us. Turtles are simply the best.
Walking On Water
Here is the doggy messiah, walking on water and fulfilling the prophecy of being extra adorable! This picture was taken at the right moment, showing us dogs can walk on water. Okay, they can't, but this is very close. The photographer got very lucky, and so do we, as we get to see this fierce image.
There is something dramatic about this dog walking above its reflection against the dark blue backdrop. It looks almost as if the entire world has disappeared, and the dog is the only one who remains in this isolated world, who is ready to find a way to save our planet.
The Cartoon Village
Welcome to the most cartoon-like village near Arkhangelsk. If you're having a hard time pronouncing the name, that's because it's in Russia! With a colorful, 90s vibe, the village is a highly visited vacation destination. Visitors come from all over the world, and we can understand why. It looks like someone drew these houses!
This village hosts many traditional Russian folk events, with complete costumes, food, and music. Everything about this picture feels nostalgic. The color of the houses, the snow piling up on the roof, and the feel of a community. Everyone is a neighbor.
Windy Birds
It is not a hurricane. These are birds doing some incredible maneuvers in synchronized formation. Birds are known for flying in flocks, and sometimes they succeed in creating amazing shapes, but this one is out of this world. These birds are not here to play.
A photographer captures these birds as they accidentally formed a hurricane-like shape. At first, this looks terrifying, but the more we look at it, we realize how extraordinary this image is, and birds are wonderous creatures who do things that are impossible for a human.
Alien Invasion
Welcome to Charlotte, USA. The first city took over by aliens. We're kidding! Aliens have yet to visit Earth. It does look like an alien invasion attacking Earth. The cold hard truth is that this image happened due to an over-exposure of the camera's shutter to the city's street lamps lights.
This picture is still mesmerizing. We look at the light pillars as if they are beacons for anyone to see. A beacon directing us to another place in the galaxy or up there in heaven. This image can sure take us to new heights.
Don't Mess With Me
This flying fella has had a pretty rough morning to wake up like this. Thank god he did, or we wouldn't have had this perfect picture of what a Monday morning looks like going back to work. This eagle is all of us, and we should give him the respect he deserves!
The photographer who took this picture probably didn't what to do with themselves, seeing this eagle all worked up and in a frenzy. This eagle, you do not want to mess with, he will come for you if you try, so do not dare even think about it! Damn, this eagle is serving us a look!
Country Jamming
This chameleon knows what's up, and he is in the mood to give us a toon or two. The photographer used up their luck when they caught in their camera lens, this incredible image of a chameleon playing a tiny leaf. Of course, we believe he's playing that leaf like a guitar on purpose!
Nature never ceases to amaze us, and this is no exception. Someone, please get this guy signed to a record deal. He is going to be big! Remember where you saw him first, that's right, right here! We hope he remembers us when he goes global!
Water Pillar
Tornados are a scary thing, really terrifying stuff from our nightmares. Here we have a forming tornado just near the coasts of Lake Victoria in Uganda. The image itself is incredible, dramatic, powerful, has a message to it, but it does make us weak in the knees seeing this.
Tornados are no joke, and they are nature's resets buttons. They destroy anything in their path, the survival rate of getting caught inside one is zero, and look how big they are! That's what writers are basing their monsters on! Stunning photo, though.
Red Cardinal Rising
Here is an untouched image of a red cardinal doing something other than flying, it is levitating. The photographer caught this bird rising in the air, and it is beautiful. It is simple and elegant, and this red cardinal is the perfect model. We feel very zen with this image.
The red cardinal is breathtaking on its own, a being of all red. This image elevates the bird's appearance, giving us a one-in-a-million chance of seeing this bird in a whole new light. Is anyone interested in bird watching with us? You might end up spotting a red cardinal.
Winter's Voyage
This train looks like it's heading to the winter semester in Hogwarts! Unforntanly, this cargo train is located in Canada. To be specific, the train is riding the rails at Morant's curve in Alberta. The image looks like it came straight out of a book, and we love every pixel in this picture.
We want to be there! We want to ride a train through Morant Curve. The scenery is out of this world, the mountain tops in the background, and the frozen river below by the tracks. Everything about this picture is extraordinary, and we can't wait to take pictures of our own when we visit.
Split World
Welcome to Mari El in Russia. The brave photographer went into the freezing water to capture this stunning split image of the Russian winter above ground and in the water. The contrast between a white-cold surface to the flourishing green underwater scenery is unbelievable.
It is the same place, one surface is out in the cold air, and the other is underwater. We can't stop looking at this masterpiece that nature created without a single thought. Our world is amazing, and if we know where to look, as this creative photographer did, we can see them ourselves.
Space Selfie
Okay, we probably used the term out of this world pretty often, but this image is literally out of this world. This picture was not taken by a human but by the Rosetta probe in space, and it captured itself in a selfie along with a comet nearby.
While we are down here, on Earth, taking selfies with our food, this space probe shows all of us how it's done with this one-of-a-kind image. The dark universe, and the probe as the only light source in the area, give us a picture you can't look away from.
Changing Seasons
A photographer in Colorado, USA took this picture of autumn scenery changing into a winter wonderland. Every part of this picture has a sense of duality. The reflections of the tops of the mountains, the orange trees, the white trees, and the skies create a complete image of the world.
It looks more like an oil painting than a picture. It is so breathtakingly gorgeous. Nature has done it again, the greatest artist of the world, mixing its seasons and mixing between a calm atmosphere and a sense of inevitable change that no one can ever stop.
Fish Eyes
Welcome to a new destination, Mahabalipuram, India. This picture was taken in an Indian market, as a vendor posed two fishes up for a kiss and accidentally made the fish eyes look like her eyes. Sometimes luck finds you in unexpected ways, as the photographer can probably tell you.
The fish even have two different eye colors, which make it even more dazzling and interesting. This image is colorful, unique and you can feel what kind of culture you are looking at. Bravo to the photographer for creating a stunning picture!
March Of The Storks
Here we have a captivating picture of a flock of storks taking flight as they leave behind the pond after they rested. The white backdrop, probably caused by mist, creates an ethereal image of angelic beings flying between the clouds. Each stork is flying in a different direction, and we have been taken away by this vision.
Stork in their nature are very regal, and through old-time tales are associated with dropping babies when mommy is pregnant. These storks might not bring babies, but they do give us life! The outlines of the birds can make for a beautiful tattoo or entirely another work of art.
A City In The Sky
Believe it or not, this is San Fransisco, USA. A photographer had to climb to a very high altitude to get this shot of a city engulfed inside low clouds or thick mist, and making us believe the city is floating high above the sky, far away from the ground.
We want to live there! The imagery is haunting and almost doesn't allow you to leave. Most of the city lights aren't seen here except for little pockets of light on the bridge and the coast. Add to that the dark atmosphere, and you got yourself a gothic-ethereal San Fransisco.
Seasons On The Fence
Here we have another seasonal change captured in this photographer's backyard in Russia. The snow melted away on the sunny area, exposing the greenish-brown grass underneath, in contrast to the snowy surface hidden from the sunlight because of the fence, makes this image a surprising discovery.
We love seeing this type of image. It reminds us the world always changes, always moving in time, and nothing is permanent. Maybe we're reading too much into this image, but isn't constant change what seasons are all about? It is nature's way to remind us nothing stays the same.
The Power Of Make Up
Next is an image that was planned well before being taken. A make-up artist created this under the sea look for a photoshoot, and we are seeing the little mermaid inspiration all over! The clay starfish looks adorable, surrounded by aquatic jewels, and finishes off this ocean royalty experience.
Make-up is a powerful tool to bring stories to life, just like images and sculptures, basically any art form. Here we get to see it up close in all its glory, and we adore it! Under the water has never looked so good, as this mermaid beauty is ready to take her first dive into the water.
Sound Waves
These waves look like they know how to make good music, as their appearance looks very similar to how sound looks. We are down to play some ocean music when given the opportunity, and when the sea calls you, you have to answer the call!
This image is soothing as it is mesmerizing in its blue beauty. The ocean has always been an inspiration to many artists, and here it does it again. What can we say, nature loves creating contrasts, and we are here for them every time, falling in love all over again, and again, and again.
Diamond Mine
In general, building a city next to a giant hole in the earth isn't the greatest of ideas, but it does make one stunning picture. In the mining town of Mirny in Russia, the locals get to wake up to a giant diamond mining hole that is located right in their backyard.
This image is both terrifying as it is hypnotic. The sense of danger is evident. The line between the hole being a hole sucking in everything and a tidal wave that's going to swoop the city is blurred and creates a picture that not only takes but steals our breath away.
A Thousand Horizons
This image is steller! This person lit up the cracks in an icy surface to create beautiful light art, and capturing it with the addition of beauty behind them with the many colors of the horizon, is a true chef's kiss. Ranging between three colors that usually shouldn't work together, this image makes it very hard to look away.
Don't get us started on the stars! We barely get to see stars anymore, living in big cities with high light pollution. This picture takes us to another place, and dare we say, another universe of icy wonders and flickering stars.
A Cold Journey
Humanity has traveled to almost every corner of the world. We ride horses. We drive cars. We sailed ships, and we fly in airplanes. In the colder parts of the globe, humans have found another way to travel and that is dog sledding. Together, sledding dogs are a powerful force of movement, able to travel great distances.
This image proves that power. These dogs are not only taking this person on a journey but us as well, and giving us a sight very rare to only those who sled have seen before. The blue-icy surface might crack, but these dogs sure won't.
The Wave
This illusion might make you think you're seeing a temple about to get hit with a giant wave, but do not worry, for they are mountains. This image takes our breath away with ease. This image is beautiful and chaotic. We feel scared for the temple, but we reassure ourselves, there isn't any danger.
The mountains look alive! Its snowy peaks bursting in white, animating the mountains, makes us think these are water waves. In front of them, we have the simple brown temple, overlooking its fate daily, looking at an amazing sight. When can we move in?
Good Night
It's bedtime for this sleepy cloud. Our last breathtaking image belongs to this composition, when a face-shaped cloud, looking up, is ready to call it in and fall asleep. The colors are mesmerizing. The blending of colors, the blue with yellowish, and white is giving us everything we wanted.
It is one lucky shot to capture on a camera. We can only assume how the photographer felt when they stumbled upon this in real life, probably while sitting in their seat inside a plane. Good night cloud, we hope you have sweet dreams.
