Sometimes we find the most phenomenal things hiding in plain sight, but that only happens when we stop and take a closer look at the things we usually take for granted. All it takes is a change of perspective for the world to reveal its mesmerizing secrets before us. Curious? Let your imagination run wild with these unedited photos that look so otherworldly, it's hard to believe they were actually taken here on planet Earth.
Drunk Eiffel Tower
A remix of the Eiffel Tower was long overdue, as everyone is well familiar with the iconic landmark's appearance. Someone, thankfully, has done it. Jean-Philippe Dumais is a French-Canadian from Quebec who just visited Paris intending to photograph the Eiffel Tower. While taking the photo, Dumais was a bit too near the tower, resulting in some brilliant panorama improvisation. This wasted Eiffel Tower became viral, and the internet loved it.
One internet user asked if the Eiffel Tower unsuspectingly walked into a spider web. Some even thought that Salvador Dalí had taken the picture.
Surreal Clouds In Harrodsburg, Kentucky
Believe it or not, these clouds are real and no one used filters at all. These are asperitas clouds. Asperitas (previously referred to Undulatus Asperitas) is a unique cloud phenomenon that resembles rippling waves. These wave-like patterns develop on the cloud's underside and resemble a rough sea surface. The formation of asperitas clouds is a topic that is still unclear. Their appearance is thought to be linked to convective thunderstorms; however, they have been seen in calmer conditions too.
It seems like the sky is falling here. For some reason, this is making us anxious, albeit impressed. Mother Nature, you're beautiful.
Beauty Within Pollution
Who knew that oil on the ground could look so spectacular – beauty comes in all forms, even as pollution. With our hectic lives, it is easy to lose sight of the beauty that surrounds us. Although it is often said, "don't forget to look up," we want to emphasize that it is also important to look down from time to time. This photographer surely did look down and captured something that looked surreal.
We don’t know why but this photo's rainbow-like colors remind us of the beautiful song called “Somewhere over the rainbow.”
Zebra Shadows
We have a love-hate relationship with shadows and shades. We either seek them or evade them, depending on our mood. There are times when we want to be in the shadow, and then there are times when we want to be out in the sun, basking in its warm rays. Finding a shady area like these zebra shadows is too rare. This work of natural beauty has left us speechless. Sometimes, all we have to do is look outside to get inspired.
Someone needs to record this area throughout the day. We bet it would be way cooler to watch as the sun moves past this neat location. It's undoubtedly an excellent spot for the budding photographer.
Pigeon Traffic Jam
Some people are lucky to be at the right place at the right time. Take a moment to consider how many breathtaking natural phenomena we have missed out on because we were not around to experience them. Perhaps it is better we couldn’t witness all of them because that makes photographs such as this one even more unique and surprising. This optical illusion is perfect, and it would make a great wallpaper pattern.
Has anyone noticed yet that half of the pigeons are just shadows? How amazing is this, right? It's just so symmetrical.
A Snowy Beach In Hokkaido, Japan
When it comes to going to the beach, we usually decide to go when the weather is a little warmer than usual. Summer vacations and hot weather are all strongly associated with the beach, as are our memories of beaches. So, how can there be snow so close to the sea? It must have been quite chilly in Hokkaido, Japan, where this photograph was taken. It doesn't get much more gorgeous than this though, right?
It looks like something straight out of a fantasy novel. How often do we get to see snow, sand, and sea in one photo? Mother Nature just keeps on surprising us.
Is This A Life-Size Jenga Building?
All we need is a new perspective to see anything a bit more clearly and differently. It might be challenging to unlearn some things in order to be receptive to new ideas and perspectives. This picture creates a genuine optical illusion in the eyes of those who view it. The structure in question appears to be rather recent, so it's probably not tumbling down as the picture suggests.
To most of us, it might look like the building is actually crumbling. It also reminds us of the movie Inception. Or maybe Dr. Strange is messing around the multiverse again.
Ready for a Quick Dip?
Natural calamities are becoming increasingly common as the climate continues to change. Despite the fact that these occurrences are natural, they are anything but lovely. Yes, they are a natural part of the environment, but the havoc they create can sometimes be devastating and long-lasting. It's not every day that a natural catastrophe results in a photograph that is breathtakingly gorgeous. Normally, when a flood of this magnitude strikes, nothing is left unaffected by it.
The swimming pool in this photo is still exceptionally blue against a backdrop of devastation. It would make an excellent music video as well.
Hail In Crop Netting
Most of us don’t realize that agriculture is a massive and vital industry throughout the world, something that many people take for granted. Without it, we would all be in serious trouble. That's why it is necessary for farmers to protect their crops with nets such as this one in order to keep them from all sorts of danger. Not only did this netting keep the crop safe from hail, but it also resulted in a visually intriguing photograph as well. The sheer weight of all of that hail captured in a netting system is truly mind-blowing.
At first, we thought it was a close-up of a golf club. Honestly, this is something most of us have never seen before. Some might say it looks like hail is having fun on a trampoline.
Ice Candy, Anyone?
There are no words to express the sensation we get when something works out perfectly. Take an example of those ASMR videos on the internet. They just instill a sense of calmness in our hearts. Similarly, that is what we felt after watching this satisfying image of ice smoothly flowing down this slide. How did this happen without the ice losing its shape at any stage? We really want to know. And no, it is not photoshopped.
Even humans cannot fold bed sheets this tidy. Anyways, we’re pretty sure this photo will satisfy every perfectionist’s soul out there.
Scud Clouds
These are called scud clouds, and they were captured in South Carolina. Scud clouds may resemble funnel clouds in appearance, but they are formed in a completely different way. As air rises in a thunderstorm, they develop in locations of increased relative humidity as the storm progresses. The name "Scud" is an abbreviation that stands for "Scattered Cumulus Under Deck," which is a kind of thunderstorm. They are loose and do not rotate like a thunderstorm.
Scud clouds can appear frightening because their appearance can be quite similar to that of a tornado. However, they are harmless.
An Absolute Perfect Scarf-Carpet Fit
It is not every day that we go into a hotel and discover that our clothes match the interior design. Accidental camouflage occurs when something unexpectedly merges in with its surroundings flawlessly, as opposed to purposeful camouflage. To be quite honest, it's pretty awesome. This woman's scarf accidentally matched her hotel carpet, and it just goes on to show that humans can also become chameleons if we try hard enough.
We get that she wanted to show how her scarf matched the carpet, but it's more shocking that she is lying on the dirty carpet. The germs on that carpet must be feeling pretty happy. Now all she has to do is remove her clothes and burn them.
A Wavy Carpet
This mosaic in Turkey was being excavated after earthquakes had rippled it. This is the world's largest mosaic at Antakya Museum hotel in Turkey. The hotel became the center of attention in 2010 when an archeological dig unveiled the world's largest mosaic dating back about 2000 years. It looks like a giant flowing magic carpet. The first thought that came into our minds after seeing this photo was of Jasmine and Aladdin.
The thought of having to pick up all those pieces and then put them down again somewhere else makes us want to cry. This is astonishing and truly special.
Those Aren't Waves
It can be quite hard to imagine the vastness of this world at times, especially when considering its capacity. Unless we live in a spectacular location or have had the luxury to travel around the world, these sights will appear unbelievably incredible to us. This backdrop serves as a fantastic illustration of just how large our world is. It also shows how beautiful and scary the world can often look to us.
It may be difficult to believe at first, but that backdrop is not a massive tidal wave headed straight for whoever may be living in that house; instead, it is a gigantic snowy mountain in the distance. It clearly shows that perspective is everything.
Is It Chi-Cargo?
Natural phenomena such as shadows can lead to some visually arresting scenes. Through the manipulation of light, we can reimagine practically anything in a completely different way. Shadows are incredible, whether they are created on purpose or not. The use of shadows by this massive ship has resulted in the most magnificent skyline. It honestly appears as if someone has created the skyline of any major city in the world. Unfortunately, it is only a bunch of shipping containers, but we love a good story, right?
Sometimes we think there might be a hidden reality out there that's sometimes revealed to us by nature. Who knows!
A Mackerel Sky
Whenever a season changes, we get to see subtle cues from nature, informing us that things are going to change and that we should make preparations for them. This is known as the mackerel sky. This cloudscape is seen as a signal of the arrival of a shift in the weather conditions. No matter if snow is on the way or has already arrived, the mackerel sky is there to warn us that change is on the way.
The entire photo looks almost otherworldly. And just imagine how a sunrise or sunset would look with a mackerel sky. This is nature’s art exhibition.
Don't Cry Over Spilt Ink
This vibrant pool of ink may appear to be a bizarre artwork, but this is a hazardous 5,000-liter ink leak. The Kent Fire and Rescue Service took this photo after they were called to clean up the leaked ink in a print manufacturer in Dartford, Kent. This glossy pool of blue, red, and yellow inks looks mesmerizing, but they pose a serious risk of contaminating the local water supply. The fire crew acted quickly to stop it from entering the water system.
Luckily, it wasn't printer ink. If it were, the printer cartridges would have become more expensive than they already are.
Entrance Of The Underwater Observatory In Lake Zug, Switzerland
This is a door on the shore of Switzerland's Lake Zug that leads to an underwater observatory, which can be reached by a flight of stairs. It has the appearance of a real-life Truman Show door. It is a tiny underwater observatory about the size of an elevator. It is approximately 20-30 stairs down, and there's a glass panel that doesn't generally provide much of a view besides a few fish. However, we’d definitely want to visit this observatory.
It is pretty cool to have a door that looks like it leads to another dimension. Although we know there's nothing really spectacular to see inside, there is this temptation to go there and see it for ourselves.
A Sculpture Of Kids Swinging From A No Longer Existing Tree
While the human population is multiplying exponentially, we are doing so many things wrong when it comes to trying to save the world and its resources. We must become more conscious of how we use the planet's limited natural resources. This photograph serves as an excellent representation of where we are right now. This used to be a statue of a girl swinging from a tree, but it has now been reduced to a sad reminder that this specific tree was cut down.
The tree trunk that was behind her is a sad reminder of how it used to be. This is a sad memorial to our dying flora and fauna. Even the kids look sad!
Clam Covered Mannequin Head That Washed Up On Shore
We humans will never be able to explore the ocean fully. Yes, we have found many things in the past, but we’re nowhere near done exploring the ocean. But sometimes things wash ashore, and we get to see more of what's down there. Take an example of this mix of the ocean and man-made items. The fact that the clams have all settled on one side and not yet taken over the other makes this an intriguing piece of art.
Who knows we might get to see this clam hat show up at the next Fashion Week. To some, it might look scary, but we think this should be turned into an art piece and displayed in an exhibition.
Not A Portal
We believe that by this point, we can all agree that reflections are the best things ever. This is another reason why the earth is such a beautiful planet. The reflection that is generated by the water and the sky is really breathtaking, giving us the impression that we could just fall right in. It even looks like a glitch in the matrix but we are not ready for that discussion, right?
Our world continues to impress us no matter where we look, and it is really important we try to keep it that way. Imagine how it would have looked if there were buildings built around this beautiful place.
A Man With Three Legs
We are pretty fortunate to be living at such a highly advanced time. In today's world, we have so many applications that it almost seems like nothing is that difficult to accomplish or locate anymore. Google Maps is perhaps one of the applications that also have some sort of an impact on people's lives. However, it appears to have had the most impact on the life of this individual, who now has three legs all because of the Google Street View camera. Oops!
Honestly, we love the way his pants are so beautifully tailored around his three legs. If this person is not a human, it clearly shows that aliens exist in our world.
Those Are Some Well-Trimmed Trees
This photograph highlights, in a poetic way, exactly how barren certain trees become during the winter months. The method in which these trees have been trimmed adds a little bit of excitement and intrigue to this image. The photographer who captured this image did an excellent job of getting the composition just right. And the photographer took this shot on the front lawn of the Parliament in Stockholm, Sweden.
It is amazing how the fog hid the city behind the trees. If we had taken that picture, we'd have it printed, framed, and even shown in some exhibition.
Brick Blanket On A Beach
No matter how much we think that we are superior to everything on this planet, the reality is that we are not. There are far too many things that occur as a result of natural factors that we have no control over. This brick wall serves as an excellent illustration of exactly how powerful the sea is. Yes, the bricks and cement are both quite durable, especially given the fact that there are still fragments of them. However, the brick wall’s appearance of a blanket is proof that the ocean is incredibly powerful and strange.
Honestly, the power of the sea is frightening. But hey, does anyone else think it looks like the wall is made of Play-Doh? Nevertheless, this worn-down brick wall sure looks like a work of art.
This Does Not Look Like What It Actually Is
Trucks, trains, and airplanes all play an important part in ensuring the food is being delivered from farms to factories to stores on time. However, in a large-scale operation such as this, there are going to be some accidents. For example, a leak in a train car caused a flood of corn kernels on this Minnesota railroad track. Sure, this would've made it a party for all of the animals in the surrounding area, but it is a pity that so much food and money was wasted that day.
This would have attracted a lot of animals to the railroad track. Imagine if it had happened during a heatwave. We would have been seeing popcorn as far as the eye could see.
Baby Groot Potato
This potato has a striking similarity to the face of a depressed person, and it is a little too much for us to handle. Since vegetables and fruits aren't living things like meat, fish, and poultry, seeing signs that resemble life can be intriguing. It seems like someone started peeling it and then stopped halfway after looking at the sad face of this potato. This is a bit unsettling, right?
How often do we get to see facial expressions similar to humans on vegetables? We have a bad "Peeling" that this potato looks a lot like baby Groot from Guardians of The Galaxy.
Call The Ghostbusters
Waiting in the doctor's office can get lonely and frustrating at times. So we simply have to keep it to ourselves and hope the doctor calls our name soon. Unless we are ghosts, there is no issue in waiting because what else is there to do, right? This girl managed to take a photo of herself on a chair, but her body is hardly visible. It looks like a ghost taking a picture of itself.
Maybe she got a chance to reflect on herself (pun intended). Who knows, the patients at the doctor's office had to wait so long for their turn that they simply died and turned into ghosts.
The Weirdest UFO Ever
We all know certain things to be true and some to be untrue. We live on a spectrum where things are either true or not. The lines are rarely blurred. But this image makes us rethink our general no-blurred-lines policy because it has hypnotized us. If we ignore the fact that it was taken inside and the chandelier is reflected from the window, it makes us think this is a mesmerizing chandelier in the night sky.
We're pretty sure most people reading this article took way too long to realize it was a reflection of a chandelier. Don't feel bad because we took the help of the internet too.
Nagabeta Seabed Road In Japan
Landmarks are an integral part of tourism in various nations. Landmarks can be man-made or natural and usually reflect a country's culture or people. That's why traveling is full of amazing experiences and memories. Take an example of this Nagbeta seabed road in Japan that has been known to attract a lot of visitors. It is used during low tide by fishermen who work at a seaweed farm and shellfish collectors to bring shellfish out by truck.
One wonders if the road is still navigable at low tide. Has anyone tried driving on this road at low tide? Nevertheless, it is terrifying and strangely intriguing.
Balconies And Ladders
Optical illusions are the funniest things because they trick our eyes into seeing something that isn't there. That's both cool and strange. The little balconies and the sun's shadow created this optical illusion. This makes the balconies appear to be diagonal ladders and the whole thing a gigantic Snakes And Ladders game. All this building is missing are the snakes. At first, we actually thought these were fire escape stairwells until we saw them end at the left edge.
It seems that only at a certain time of the day, the shadow thief can break into any of these apartments in the building by using the ladders.
Liars Everywhere
A trip to the zoo is one of the most fun things for a kid to do. There are so many different things to learn about other species. But this zoo seems a bit fishy even if there are no fish there (we're sorry for this lame pun). If there are no animals in the exhibit now, then why is this duck there? Do ducks no longer qualify as animals? One could argue that there is no duck there.
Maybe the duck claims that it is not an exhibitionist. We love how the duck doesn't give a...we hope everyone can understand what we're trying to say.
On Top of A Shipping Container
When we see pictures of lovely remote Caribbean islands, we immediately desire to leave everything behind and go find ourselves on an unknown island. Ah, it is a dream. But this isn't one of those Caribbean islands. This is a cargo container's roof. It's hard to believe because it seems like an island. It looks so beautiful and we can bet no one knew what it was before reading the title of this photo.
This looks like a mini-ecosystem! This is how we know the wheels of nature will keep on turning long after the human race is gone.
Silver Water
There is a diverse range of vegetation, wildlife, and textures found in different places of the earth. It is because of the changes in temperature and humidity, and even the air quality. The color of the water, on the other hand, is something that many places have in common. But, after seeing this image, we're questioning that assumption as well! The color of the water in this ocean is obviously not the ordinary blue, and it also appears to have an unusual texture to it. In certain ways, it seems as though the boat is dragging the water rather than pulling it.
Some may say it looks a lot like the world's largest zipper. This is because the sun and the camera make the same angle to the water surface. We're just seeing the sun's reflection on the water.
That's One Trippy Flooding
Optical illusions can be fun and tacky or quite disturbing. Back in the day, an optical illusion wasn't as good as it is now. It took us a good 5 minutes to figure out what was going on. It’s a flooded car park with a pretty low ceiling. The grounds behind the yellow-and-white hump are flooded. The dark line in the middle of the wall is just above water level and those beneath are reflections.
It can make anyone think there is a ramp going underground. Or maybe there is a motorized ramp in place that is only used when people have to go underground.
Melting Road
Every country has a different approach when it comes to dealing with intense weather conditions. While some have to develop strategies to deal with extremely hot weather, others have to figure out how to prevent extreme cold from affecting their daily lives. For example, during a heatwave in India, the pavement on the streets actually melted due to the extreme temperatures. It is hard to imagine how hot it must have been. We can't imagine how difficult it would have been for the people living there in such harsh conditions.
We can now say with full confidence that the floor is lava. If anyone is wondering why the tires on the motorbikes and cars don't melt, well, sometimes they do.
An Overturned Shed
Tornadoes are a major concern in several places in the US. After all, over 1,200 tornadoes hit the United States every year and there were 1,248 tornadoes reported in 2020. Tornadoes disturb daily life and pose a major hazard to humans and animals, property, and livestock. This looks just like a scene from the Wizard of Oz. Is it possible that this shed flew to Oz and then landed like this?
Although this overturned shed shows the destruction of tornadoes, the perspective makes it an art. Or maybe the tornado overturned the world and the shed is completely fine.
Don't Ride This Roller Coaster
Hurricane Sandy's devastation has been extensively recorded with a large number of tragic photographs and videos, but few were as memorable as the roller coaster at Seaside Heights, New Jersey. As a result of Hurricane Sandy hitting the New Jersey coastlines, this amusement park was almost completely destroyed. The Jet Star rollercoaster was thrown into the water, and the wreckage was not removed until seven months after the events.
It serves as a striking reminder of the force of Mother Nature, as well as, possibly, the consequences of climate change. It’s not that we find it hilarious, but the rollercoaster turned into a water slide.
So How's 2022 Going So Far?
We use roads, live in buildings, and look at a lot of other fundamental things around us all the time. We are all familiar with some basic things and can identify them. Therefore, when such objects are damaged in any manner, it appears to us that something is wrong all at once. Take an example of this electric pole. Bushfire damage caused this electricity pole to become unstable and lose all of its supporting structure.
Nothing is supporting the electric pole, yet it has managed to maintain its place despite the lack of assistance. It is kind of like how 2020 was for us and even 2021 is pretty much the same.
Oh, Hello There!
When it comes to driving, there is nothing more frustrating than a passenger in the backseat. It would be really appreciated if someone could kindly inform this statue not to peep through the back window in such a manner. Maybe the statue was so eager to hear what the front seat passengers were talking about that it broke through the window. This is a good representation of how we have all felt since the pandemic started.
Maybe the statue is trying to say, "Oh, I am just trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty.”
Bird’s Eye View Of A Ship Being Cleaned
We're pretty sure most of our readers have never spent a lot of time at sea or seen what it's like to be on a deck when sailing through the ocean. This bird’s eye view shows a significant contrast between the ocean and the deck, which a member of the boat crew is cleaning. The contrast between the color of the deck and the color of the water is so intense and striking.
This aesthetic is made even more beautiful by the use of a variety of textures and colors. And if anyone is thinking about the soap water, sadly, they do dump it into the ocean.
